These pictures show the existing line from near Meadowbank to Shrubill to Powderhall used to take Edinburgh’s rubbish away from the Powderhall Waste Transfer Station to a landfill site in Dunbar as well as pictures of the track at the Powderhall depot and pulley system to move rail wagons. Worthy of note is that this depot is now scheduled to close down at the end of 2018 because of equipment failures and environmental concerns, when a new waste facility is due to open at Millerhill in Midlothian
